Welcome to Hatton Estate,

Hatton Estate Neighbourhood Watch was formed early in 2015 and is a registered Non-Profit Organisation.

We have a number of patrollers and emergency medics who are residents that live within our footprint and give their time freely to assist where required and to keep out streets safe. The majority of our patrollers are issued with two way radios, acquired either through sponsorships or funds donated to HENW, allowing us to react to situations fast and effectively. These radios allows for easy flow of information between patrollers, the emergency operator and other neighbourhood watched in the Greater Pinetown Area.

Our emergency number 063 360 5305 is manned 24/7/365 by volunteers and you can call that number whenever you have any concerns relating to crime or an emergency situation in our area. The information received is relayed to residents registered on our database and patrollers are dispatched where necessary.

All residents that are registered on our database are on WhatsApp Groups, zoned to the street that they live in. These are READ ONLY groups that are used to regularly give feedback to our residents with regards to any crime or events happening in our neighbourhood. We also have a Pets of Hattons WhatsApp group for the residents who care about our furry friends and can assist when help is needed with animals out of yards, etc.

HENW don’t only try to reduce crime in the area, but also try to assist our community wherever possible, from assisting with clearing debris after storms like fallen trees, coordinating with Umbilo Conservancy to assist with river clean-ups, pet rescues, verge maintenance and the general well-being of our area.

In order for us to operate successfully, we host fund raising events such as our “No-Cook” Fridays and Market Days.  Our “No Cook” Fridays are hosted the last Friday of every second month where we cook supper for you – so on your way home you can stop at Plantimex opposite Hattons Spar and pick up your burger, wors rolls, vetkoek and hot chips for supper. Other exciting Fund Raising events will be advertised via our WhatApp Groups or our Facebook Pages.

We also offer the following:
– You can purchase a gate sign, clearly marked with your street address, to ensure that emergency services are able to locate you home in the event of any emergency.
– You can purchase dog tags for your furry friends – all the animals details are loaded on to a database so your animals can be taken back home if found.

It is totally free to belong to our neighbourhood watch but donations are appreciated. Should you be interested, please complete the residents form and submit it to us as soon as possible so we can add you to our database. All information received is strictly confidential and will not be shared with anyone.
